High Speed Handpiece Turbine Rebuild
If your handpiece has reduced cutting power, stops working, or loses concentricity the primary reason is usually the turbine bearings are worn and need replacement. We carefully remove the old bearings and any other parts too worn to use. After a thorough cleaning, we install new bearings and o-rings, calibrate, test your handpiece, and return it to you running as good as new. If the autochuck is retaining the bur properly, our turbine rebuild offers a more economical alternative to replacing the entire turbine every time.
Autochuck Replacement
When the automatic chuck in your handpiece turbine stops retaining the bur safely you have two options. You can replace the entire turbine or replace the autochuck only. If your bearings are in good condition then the bad autochuck can be removed and replaced. This is a separate repair from the turbine rebuild, and carries a separate six month warranty.
Ceramic Bearings
We exclusively use ceramic ball bearings in our high speed repairs. A ceramic ball is lighter, approximately 60%, and smoother than a comparable steel ball. These properties allow the ceramic ball to create less friction when operating at maximum speeds. The reduction in friction produced heat minimizes the wear on the bearing outer raceway. Ceramic balls are harder than steel balls offering better protection against damage from external contaminants or bearing wear debris. With proper maintenance, the ceramic ball bearings can yield a longer life span over traditional steel ball bearings.
